We’ve recently completed a project for The Page, a new company specialising in Creative Writing Residential Retreats.
The brief was clear – the website needed to be easily updated with information on forthcoming events, and there needed to be a payment-gateway/cart-feature for taking online payments.
Stephen Thompson at The Page had clear ideas on how the site should look in terms of colouring, fonts and style. The website needed to have a clean and modern design and should avoid the clichés associated with “writing”.
Both the logo and website went through several stages of design and drafting before arriving at the finished article, and the site needed to be test-driven to assess the ecommerce functionality. The site is integrated with PayPal and features an automated email system in response to purchases.
What I really enjoyed about the project was that I was able to work with Stephen on very aspect of the brand identity, starting with the logo, creating social media profiles, designing the website an then finally linking it all together so that the Facebook page, Twitter account, PayPal account and website all fed into each other. Its great fun working with a new business and seeing a project through from beginning to end, especially when you can feel the enthusiasm and passion that the business owners have for their new venture.
“As a small start-up looking to create our first website, our brief was simple: we wanted something user-friendly, eye-catching, affordable and we needed the work done by a certain time. The guys at Red Robot delivered on all counts and with a personal touch sadly lacking in most business transactions these days. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.”
I wish Stephen and Vanessa lots of luck with The Page and look forward to working with them again in the future 🙂
